London: Two days ahead of the last Test of the series, the Indian team management is yet to take a call on whether to play star pacer Jasprit Bumrah at the Oval. Bumrah has already played three Tests, which was the limit set for him before arriving in England.
“Bumrah is fit now. We will take a call according to his workload. The head coach, physio and captain will have a discussion and decide,” India’s batting coach Sitanshu Kotak said on Tuesday.TOI understands that left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh is very close to making his Test debut here on Thursday. He appears to have recovered from the split webbing injury on his bowling hand. He was made to bat for a decently long time in the nets.India may also contemplate playing Kuldeep Yadav, given captain Shubman Gill’s reluctance to use Shardul Thakur as a seam-up option. The team management will also have to rejig the batting order since Rishabh Pant has been ruled out of the last Test due to a fractured foot.
