India captain Shubman Gill has been nominated for ICC’s Player of the Month award for July alongside South Africa’s Wiaan Mulder and England skipper Ben Stokes. Gill’s nomination comes after his exceptional performance in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy against England, where he led India to a 2-2 draw and broke several batting records.Gill amassed 754 runs with four centuries in the series against England, including a double century, averaging 75.40. This performance surpassed Sunil Gavaskar’s record of 732 runs for the highest run tally by an Indian captain in a five-Test series.
