India on the driving seat against England at stumps on Day 4

India edged closer to a comprehensive victory on Day 4 of the second Test at Edgbaston. Starting the day with a healthy lead of 244 runs, the Indian batters once again delivered a commanding performance. Skipper Shubman Gill led from the front with a magnificent 161, well supported by half-centuries from Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant. Earlier, KL Rahul laid the foundation with a gritty 55, giving India a strong start. The dominant batting display allowed India to set a mammoth target of 608 runs for the hosts.

In reply, England got off to a disastrous start, losing Zak Crawley for a duck, followed by quick dismissals of Ben Duckett and Root.
