The ongoing India-England Test series has become one for the history books, with nine different batters scoring over 400 runs — the most ever in a single Test series. This remarkable feat surpasses previous records held by the West Indies in Australia (1975/76) and the 1993 Ashes, where eight batters achieved the milestone. India have dominated the run charts. India Captain Shubman Gill leads the pack with a stunning 754 runs across five Tests. KL Rahul (532), Ravindra Jadeja (516), Rishabh Pant (479), and Yashasvi Jaiswal (411) have also had memorable campaigns. For England, Ben Duckett (462), Joe Root (455)*, Jamie Smith (432), and Harry Brook (408)* have all played standout innings. These big scores were made possible by largely batting-friendly pitches across the series — The Oval being the only venue where bowlers consistently found help from the surface. And on Day 4 of the final Test there, India’s bowlers made that advantage count.
Mohammed Siraj continued his impressive run by dismissing England captain Ollie Pope with a sharp nip-backer, becoming the series’ leading wicket-taker with 20 wickets. Earlier, Prasidh Krishna removed Ben Duckett for 54 after sustained pressure from the Indian seamers.
