The 30-year-old England National Cricket Team premier pacer Jofra Archer switched on his beast mode during the third Test match of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.
Jofra Archer unleashed hell for the India National Cricket Team all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Nitish Kumar Reddy at Lord’s with the fastest spell of his career on Saturday, July 12.
Jofra Archer stuns Lord’s crowd with sensational spell
Archer has been breathing fire in his comeback game at the iconic venue in London. He looked terrific in his first over in Test cricket after four years and bagged a huge wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal on his third ball.
Your daily dose of cricket!
Although Archer has not managed to get another wicket so far, he has bowled spectacularly and looked the most threatening bowler.
Archer, in particular, looked unplayable in the 73rd over as he bowled at a great pace and troubled the India National Cricket Team all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and Nitish Kumar Reddy.
He started the over with a 92.7 mph short ball to Ravindra Jadeja down the leg and followed it up with another short length 93.1 mph delivery angling into the body that Jadeja tucked into the midwicket region for a single.
On the third ball of the over, Archer bowled a 92.0 mph delivery to Nitish Kumar Reddy that skidded through sharply, but the batter managed to defend well.
The next three deliveries of the over were bowled at a pace of 90.5 mph, 91.9 mph, and 91.4 mph by Jofra Archer, and all of them were short-length balls. ECB shared the video of the over on their official X handle and revealed that it was the fastest spell of his career.

There’s more to him in terms of skills – Dinesh Karthik
Speaking on Sky Sports ahead of the play on Day 3, former India National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik showered rich praise on Jofra Archer for his performance on Day 2 and said:
“There’s more to him in terms of skills, of the variations he’s got. If you do play him in a T20 game, you’ll come across all the variations. He’s got a good, slower leg cutter, he’s got a nice, sharp bouncer. But in Test cricket, it’s about hitting consistent lengths. As Broady would tell you, it’s not about having the variations, it’s making sure that you’re there and thereabouts.
“And you’re able to plan a batter out, to have the control to say, I’ll keep bowling in, and throw one out. And that is just tempting enough for the batsman to have a dig at it. That’s a different skill in all. But in general, he’s box office, he’s great to watch. The whole ground came to watch, two people probably. I think Jofra Archer one, and Rishabh Pant batting.
“Because they bring something, a flavour which is very rare, and that’s fun to watch. And this format needs it, and you need players like Jofra. It’s not about the stats when it comes to Jofra.
“It’s about the impact he creates, and the way he’s able to pull a crowd when they come. And the happiness that they have, watching him bowl at 90 clicks consistently. Yesterday, there was a friend who came and said, wow, that Joffre spell, it just sped through. From the side, it felt like, boop, it was quick. So, that’s what you get with Jofra, and that’s a great flavour to have in a game like this.”
