Pietersen joked about his role in the Delhi Capitals setup, saying, “Bro, what’s a mentor? No one knows what a mentor is. Can you tell me what a mentor is?”
Delhi Capitals have defeated Gujarat Titans twice in Ahmedabad. The upcoming match against the Gujarat Titans will be another test for the Capitals.

KL Rahul mocked the former England captain for his recent mid-season trip to the Maldives. Rahul humorously stated that a mentor is someone who takes a two-week vacation during the IPL season, leaving Pietersen speechless.
“Mentor is someone who goes to the Maldives for two weeks mid-season,” Rahul replied.

Kevin Pietersen Missed Delhi Capitals’ Matches Against RCB and MI
Kevin Pietersen recently traveled to the Maldives with his family. He missed the team’s matches against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI). However, he was present for the match against the Rajasthan Royals. Delhi secured a victory over the Sanju Samson-led team in the Super Over.
Mitchell Starc played a crucial role in turning the match around against Rajasthan with yorkers, including the Super Over.
Pietersen was appointed as the mentor for Delhi Capitals ahead of the IPL 2025 season, with Hemang Badani also joining as the team’s head coach. A victory against the Gujarat Titans would further consolidate Delhi Capitals’ position at the top of the points table.
KL Rahul has been in excellent form with the bat in IPL 2025. The Karnataka-born cricketer started the season with a quick-fire 15 against SunRisers, then scored a match-winning 77 runs against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and a brilliant unbeaten 93* against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
