On Day 2 of the second Test between West Indies and Australia, Pat Cummins pulled off a sensational catch to dismiss the dangerous Keacy Carty, as the match hangs beautifully in the balance between the two competitive sides.
Pat Cummins grabs a breathtaking catch to dismiss Keacy Carty
West Indies started their innings on Day 2 after a grueling first day of cricket. Meanwhile, the moment unfolded in the 9th over when Australian skipper Cummins took a stunning caught-and-bowled to dismiss Carty. The delivery was on a good length and nipped back sharply into the right-hander, who pressed forward with his bat away from the pad.
A thick inside edge popped the ball up off bat and pad, seemingly destined to fall in no man’s land near square mid-wicket. But Cummins reacted instantly, sprinting to his right, diving forward, and plucking the ball inches from the ground with one hand. His quick reflexes and sharp change of direction made it a truly outstanding catch.

Australian pace attack keeps West Indies in check on Day 2
The hosts began Day 2 with 286 runs to trail. However, the side suffered an early setback as opener Kraigg Brathwaite, playing his landmark 100th Test, was dismissed for a duck. Wickets continued to fall at regular intervals, with West Indies reduced to 64 for 3. But left-hander John Campbell showed composure, steadying the innings with a well-constructed knock of 40 runs. By lunch, West Indies had reached 110 runs without losing any further wickets, with experienced batter Brandon King and skipper Roston Chase keeping the innings alive.
Meanwhile, the visitors, Australia, once again impressed with the ball—particularly the pace attack. Cummins and Josh Hazlewood were exceptional, picking up a wicket each, while all-rounder Beau Webster also chipped in with the crucial dismissal of Campbell. With the hosts still trail by 170 runs, the Australians will be aiming to wrap up the innings quickly and take the lead.
